James Tarkowski says he is prepared to battle for Everton next season.
The English centre-back, signed from Burnley this summer, made his first outing against Arsenal at Baltimore Ravens' M&T Bank Stadium last weekend.
Tarkowski told the club's website: "It's nice to know that the fans have reacted well to my first 45 minutes in an Everton shirt. I'm looking forward to more games and hopefully keep that feeling going.
"I thought Evertonians might like a big tackle after working with Lee Carsley for a short period!
"Hopefully, there are plenty more to come in the coming games. Tackling is part of the game and something I really enjoy, so there will be more.
"I'm really looking forward to experiencing Goodison Park as a home game. I'm sure there'll be a few crunching tackles going in, but nice and clean, as always."
