Everton midfielder Dwight McNeil was delighted after scoring in victory over Newcastle.
McNeil opened the scoring in the 3-0 win.
He later said: "It's massive [for confidence], I'm just happy to help the team when I can then we went on and scored two more amazing goals.
"I think we created some good chances before we went ahead, especially in the first half and the start of the second half, where we could have scored. But it shows how far we've come and the character we've got in the squad to keep going and score three goals. Of course, everyone is happy.
"It means a lot for the fans as well. They've been through a difficult time and we know, as I've said before, that this Club is their lives. It's nice to give them something, get back to winning ways with a clean sheet and put three more points on the board.
"It's good for our confidence but we can't get too ahead of ourselves because we know we've got a massive game coming up against Chelsea on Sunday. We've got to keep going from here."
