Everton midfielder Amadou Onana was critical of himself after defeat at Tottenham.

Onana admits he should've scored during the 2-0 reverse.

He said: "We had two big chances in the first half. If we score them it could be another game. Spurs did very well, they didn't need many chances to score.

"That penalty broke us down mentally but we haven't got time to feel sorry for ourselves. We've got to bounce back at Newcastle.

"I have got to do better, at least get it on target. But when I wanted to shoot, the ball jumps a bit, so I put it over."

On Everton's game plan, he added: "It worked. We stayed compact and did very well and stayed together. If we scored those chances, it maybe would have been another game. We can definitely build on that."
