If there’s one TV show everyone seems to be talking about right now, it’s The Pitt. From winning Outstanding Drama Series at the 2025 Emmys to Best Drama Series at the Golden Globes, it’s become TV’s latest obsession. And now it’s finally coming to the UK.
The high-stakes medical drama takes place in a cash-strapped Pittsburgh hospital and unfolds in real time, with each episode covering an hour of a relentless 15-hour shift. Created by ER’s John Wells and starring Noah Wyle, The Independent’s culture editor Jacob Stolworthy called The Pitt “one of the greatest new shows to have premiered in a long while” in his review, adding that it got better with every episode.
If, like me, you’re a bona fide medical drama obsessive, this is one you won’t want to miss. Season two is currently airing in the US and has already been renewed for a third. So when can you actually watch The Pitt in the UK, and where will it be streaming? Here’s everything you need to know.

‘The Pitt’ cast and plot
Noah Wyle leads the cast as Dr Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, a senior attending physician. He’s joined by Tracy Ifeachor as registrar Dr Heather Collins; Patrick Ball as senior resident Dr Frank Langdon; and Katherine LaNasa as charge nurse Dana Evans, alongside Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif and Taylor Dearden as junior doctors.
Shawn Hatosy also appears as Dr Jack Abbott, a recurring attending doctor, with Isa Briones, Gerran Howell and Shabana Azeez rounding out the wider team of residents.
Taking on a 24-style format, the show unravels in a busy Pittsburgh emergency department, following the team across a single 15-hour shift. A stressful watch, it explores how characters in an underfunded hospital cope under pressure while dealing with their own personal problems.
