Former Arsenal chairman David Dein has spoken about Everton being given a points deduction.
The Toffees have been docked 10 points by the Premier League with immediate effect.
Dein believes the ruling, which came through an independent commission, is trouble for the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea.
Dein stated of the two clubs who are also being investigated for financial rules branches, per talkSPORT: "One has to differentiate between the Premier League charging and what happens after that.
It is an independent tribunal, the Premier League actually have nothing to do with the result and the decision.
The Premier League do the charging but do not do the judgment. To me, it seems extortionate but there you are. It could have a knock-on effect at other clubs and that would be a disaster."
