Former Benfica midfielder Bruno Aguiar says Enzo Fernandez appears happy where he is.
And Aguiar told O Jogo: ""The process wasn't easy, because there was a lot at stake, even for Enzo himself. Sometimes people talk, but it's not easy when you're world champion and suddenly an offer comes up.
"We know that out there they are paying amounts that are impossible in Portugal. I think that Enzo just made the mistake of, after the duel in Braga, going [to Argentina] to spend New Year's Eve. Besides, it is not known what he did or said.
""Enzo is still a young athlete, he has a good character, he's a good kid and I think that a mistake sometimes doesn't mean anything. He already admitted that he made a mistake and that gesture was for the fans to realize that he wants to stay here and he's ready soul and heart, because no one knows the future. The joy he put on the field and as soon as he scored means he is happy. The fans will recognize that and they gain nothing by not applauding him in the derby."
