Former Inter Milan striker Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is convinced Romelu Lukaku will make the difference this season.

Lukaku, on-loan from Chelsea, is currently injured and was back in Belgium last week for treatment.

Rummenigge told Il Corriere dello Sport: "A very clever operation by my friend (Beppe) Marotta: he sold him in 2021 for €115 million and took him back on loan 12 months later.

"Lukaku with Inter has already won the Scudetto and will do well.

"(Robert) Lewandowski wanted to try a new professional adventure and was satisfied. Now the (Bayern Munich) team plays differently and, no longer having the classic number 9 of 40-50 goals to season, deploys four elements that are very fast and capable of hurting you."
