Former Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards is in advanced talks with Manchester United.
Football Insider says the 43-year-old has been widely praised for his work at Anfield. Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mané and Alisson Becker are among players Edwards signed during his time in charge. He chose to leave his position after last season.
Several big clubs around Europe have tried to recruit Edwards in recent months, but he has yet to accept any proposals.
Chelsea have shown strong interest. But United have convinced him to snub the London club.
United are close to an agreement with Edwards and are ready to wait until the summer as he wants to recharge for a year.
