Former England international Stuart Pearce has criticised Manchester City winger Jack Grealish.

The attacker won the Treble with his club last season and is a regular for his country.

However, Grealish has slipped down the pecking order at City this season, with the club also suffering poor results in the Premier League in recent weeks.

Speaking on the White and Jordan Show on talkSPORT, the ex-City boss said: I must say when I see him in an England shirt and I see him in a Manchester City shirt, I've just been looking at his stats, two goals and two assists playing for Manchester City, the best team in Europe.

"I think he should be pitching in with at the end of the any season, ten goals, minimum 10 assists personally, especially when you've got [Kevin] De Bruyne, not there as well. They need someone to step to the fore. That's a part of his game.

He scored and you've rightly pointed out two in two, I tell you what he was fortunate to score. It wasn't a clinical finish. It's gone through the goalkeeper's legs so I don't think he's finished it well, and I don't want to knock him at all, but I think the end product has got to be a lot better.

I agree with Souey on his analysis of what you're seeing. It's passing backwards, passing sideways, too often, when he goes and takes people on, wow, you wouldn't want to play against him, but it's too rare."
