Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon is showing his true self at the club this season.
That is the perspective of former shot stopper Shay Given, who praised the former Everton winger.
Gordon had a slow start to life at the Magpies after arriving in January in a big money move.
Given told Match of the Day 2: "He [Gordon] was rested, midweek he had a great game in the San Siro, put a real shift in.
We talk about Eddie Howe with his squad, he has to rotate but after 12 minutes Gordon came off the bench and he had a huge game today for Newcastle.
"This season, he has been a different player. He's been transformed, two goals and two assists already this season. He was a huge part of it."
Given added: "He's been so positive with everything he does. He's direct, he's creating chances."
