Former Newcastle midfielder Lee Bowyer has questioned whether manager Eddie Howe can maintain their momentum next season.
Howe has led Newcastle to Champions League qualification for next term.
But Bowyer told talkSPORT: "My worry is, has he (Eddie Howe) achieved too much too soon? I just fear, a bit like David Moyes (at West Ham), he got them seventh or eighth for West Ham and then because they didn't sustain that the next season he was under immense pressure.
"Now he's in the top four, in the Champions League and these owners are going to want to stay in that position, if not get higher.
"It's an unbelievable job him and Jason have done. I've known Jason (Tindall) since we were kids, we were in the same team together.
"They've done an unbelievable job, but I just hope they can sustain it next season and keep building. He's a great manager, he's proven that."
