MANILA, Philippines — Former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Edward Barber is engaged to his non-showbiz partner, Ricki Umali.
Barber shared the news while speaking at Favor Church Manila, where he serves as a pastor-in-training. He recalled being single the last time he spoke at the church before revealing that his relationship status had changed.
“From the last time I was here, I’m now in an awesome relationship. Don’t tell me that God is not real. I used to be the most single person in this place," Barber said.
Barber then showed the congregation a photo of himself with Umali.
“This is not the point of the sermon. I have a point for showing you all this. This is not just my girlfriend, this is my fiancée Ricki. I proposed. Naunahan niyo ako, okay lang. I proposed to her so she’s now my fiancée," he shared.
Umali has largely remained away from the entertainment spotlight. Barber has also kept their relationship private prior to his engagement announcement.
Barber gained public attention after joining “Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7” in 2016. He later pursued work as an actor and television host while remaining active in his Christian faith and church ministry.
Barber and Umali have yet to announce details about their wedding plans.
