KOTA KINABALU: A former secretary of an association will be charged tomorrow for allegedly submitting false documents to obtain a special allocation of RM85,000 from the Sabah Chief Minister.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sabah said the funds were supposedly for building the association's administrative office in a district where the suspect also worked.
The man in his 50s, who is also a suspended headmaster, was detained on Tuesday morning at the MACC office in Kota Kinabalu.
He was previously charged with eight counts related to similar offences in May 2024.
MACC Sabah director Datuk S Karunanithy confirmed the arrest, adding the case will be prosecuted under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
