Ex-senior officer to face charges over alleged RM42m UiTM Holdings payments

A FORMER senior management officer is expected to be charged on Thursday over an alleged abuse of power involving about RM42 million in operational payments linked to UiTM Holdings Sdn Bhd.

The man, in his 50s, was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at his home in the Klang Valley at about 1pm on Monday to assist investigations.

Initial investigations found that the suspect allegedly abused his position in 2017 by approving operational expenditure payments to several companies in which he was believed to have interests.

MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman confirmed the arrest when contacted and said the case was being investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.

“The suspect is expected to be charged this Thursday (Oct 1),” he said. - September 29, 2026
