This is the moment a former Spurs and England star was mown down by a pitch roller in a freak accident while warming up during a game.
Andros Townsend, 35, was lucky to avoid serious injury after being crushed by the heavy machine as he took part in a half-time passing drill with his teammates in Thai League side PT Prachuap.
Footage shows a groundsman driving on to the field before colliding with an unaware Townsend and running the vehicle over the player’s legs and torso in front of an audibly shocked crowd.
Fortunately Townsend was still able to take part in the match after the incident, playing a minute of the match in a substitute appearance as PT Prachuap went on to win 3-0.
