
Kota Kinabalu: Former Petagas assemblyman, Datuk James Ligunjang, said the time has come for Sabah to break away from the “Malaya-centric education system”.
He said: “The current political climate in the State and country provides a conducive setting to let Sabah decide on education matters that reflect the identity and aspirations of the diverse ethnic communities in the state, without any involvement from the Federal Government.
“This is the perfect time for Sabah to own full rights to education. We must commit ourselves to achieve this. It’s now or never,” he said in a statement, Monday.
