Ramadan bazaars in Kelantan have been undergoing hygiene inspections from the start of Ramadan until March 15.
A total of 112 food vendors at Ramadan bazaars across the state were fined for various offenses, adding up to RM12,300 in fines, as reported by BERNAMA.

Fines were issued for violating regulations
Kelantan’s Local Government, Housing, Health, and Environment Exco, Hilmi Abdullah, said the fines were issued after inspections at 3,433 premises across 73 locations.
Hilmi explained that the fines were for food handlers not wearing aprons, shoes, or head coverings, or removing accessories while handling food.
He also said that everyone fined had violated the Food Hygiene Regulations 2009.
Vendors were only given warnings
Hilmi noted that most vendors inspected were not ordered to close their stalls but were instead given special warnings to fix their hygiene standards right away.
He also pointed out that 59 monitoring teams with 140 personnel have been assigned to keep an eye on Ramadan bazaars across Kelantan this year.
He also urged the public to report any food hygiene issues using the QR codes displayed at the bazaars.
