After more than three decades in the industry, Malaysian rock band Exists is set to stage a large-scale concert titled Exists Memento Mori, bringing together its core members and two of its most recognisable vocalists.
Scheduled to take place on Aug 1 at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil, the concert marks the band’s first major show since its 2019 reunion performances in Shah Alam and Singapore.
The lineup will see Ajai, Shah, Ujang, Along and Musa performing alongside former frontmen Mamat Exists and Ezad Lazim, a combination that reflects different phases of the band’s journey.

The title Memento Mori, a Latin phrase that encourages awareness of life’s impermanence, mirrors Exists’ own trajectory.
Since breaking through with songs such as Untukmu Ibu, the band has navigated shifts in the music industry, periods of reduced visibility and eventual resurgence through a catalogue that continues to resonate with listeners.
According to organiser Icon Entertainment, the concert is intended as a reflection of the band’s longevity and continued relevance in a changing industry.
“Exists, true to its name, continues to exist. The band has endured moments of decline and found relevance again, not just through attitude, but through the quality of its music. This concert is our way of appreciating every moment Exists has shared with fans across the region,” said Icon Entertainment founder Iman Tang.
Along, speaking on behalf of the band, he described the concert as a culmination of their shared history.
“This concert is a reflection of our journey and struggles. This time, all seven of us come together again, united by the same belief that built Exists in the first place,” he said.
He noted that while members have pursued different paths over the years, mutual respect and a commitment to the music have allowed Exists to endure.
The setlist is expected to focus on well-known tracks, with an emphasis on songs that remain closely associated with the band’s identity and fanbase.
Fans are encouraged to embrace an 80s-inspired dress code for the concert, with looks such as baggy jeans, dungarees, tucked-in polo shirts and curly hairstyles bringing a nostalgic nod to the golden days.
Tickets are priced from RM228 to RM488, with a premium sofa seating category at RM5,000. Sales begin tomorrow at 11am.
