The cafe scene in the city of KL and Selangor areas continues to pop up all over the place. This is especially true with cafes that serve speciality coffees, light bites and full meals. Below is the selected list of 8 new cafes to get your coffee fix in alphabetical order.


A step into Bound welcomes you with its cosy and minimalist interior. It’s a great place to chill out and have a nice cup of coffee. Good speciality coffee regardless of black or white, served hot or cold using their house blend or upgrade to seasonal single-origin bean for a fraction of the price. Or try one of their specials, namely the black coffee-based Tropical Punch, Salted Caramel Latte and Earl Grey Latte. Bound also serves assorted pastries & cakes, rice bowls, pasta and sandwiches.

Here’s a well-lit space with a skylight and a row of mirrors filling the interior with the radiant warmth of natural sunlight. Coffee Space also has that inviting ambience with matching decor and strategically placed potted plants to brighten the cafe. And just like the name suggests, they serve various caffeinated beverages from the regulars like Espresso, Americano and Flat White. Or order one of their signature drinks such as Rosy Petal Latte, Pandan Coconut Latte and Cold Foam Espresso. For bites, some of Coffee Space’s recommended options include Ham & Cheese Omelette and Patty Melt Grilled Sandwich.

Sit back, relax and enjoy a cup or two at Diastole Cafe. The no-frills, pleasant ambience gets you in the mood and when it comes to menu choices, they serve the usual caffeine fixes from Espresso to Cappuccino and Spanish Latte. Can’t handle milk? Not to worry, though since you can upgrade your drink to oat milk. They also concoct something special: the unique Mango Cheesecake Latte They also serve sliced cakes, cupcakes, brownies and s’mores if you are looking for some sweet bites to pair with your favourite coffee. Diastole Cafe organises live music too, which takes place every Saturday at 9 pm on the first floor.

So, is anything gud about this place? Their ice-cold Gud Gud Latte comes highly recommended. They also sell regular coffee varieties like Latte and Mocha. If you like some bites, they have waffles with up to two flavours (chocolate/peanut butter/butter) to choose from, and the classic Gud Gud Sandwich (chicken, egg & cheese). Prices are wallet-friendly since Gud Gud Coffee is primarily targeted at students (SEGi College) and office workers nearby.

Get comfortable at Hip Coffee with its predominantly minimalist white interior, offering a sense of peace and calm. They even have designated tables by the wall with plug points so you can get some work done. Menu-wise, they offer reasonably priced drinks from coffee to non-coffee and tea varieties. They also serve pasta, pizza, cakes and desserts including waffles with ice cream and gelato.

The Taiwan-based M5 Coffee made its Malaysian debut in TTDI, offering a range of speciality beverages like Cube Americano (premium blend with espresso iced cube), Oatmeal Cookie Cup Latte and the signature Mount Kinabalu. The latter is a mix of premium blend, citrusy orange juice and topped with an espresso iced cube. If you prefer something traditional, they have espresso-based drinks from Classic Americano/Latte to Caramel Macchiato and Flat White. They also serve food menus from savoury croissants to pasta dishes.

The popular Jalan Tun H S Lee is home to Pucks Coffee, boasting an eclectic mix-and-match decor with white walls and wooden panels all around. They serve hot & iced coffee and their speciality is Affan’s Fav, a combination of oat milk and hazelnut mocha. Yet another cafe that leans heavily on minimalism, Silverfox Cafe stays true to its name since you will come across the protruding head of a silver fox embedded on the side of the outside wall. Inside, they keep it simple with its cafe interior, all white with a skylight in the centre. You can get your caffeine fix here no matter if you like it hot or cold. They also serve sliced cakes and foods like pasta meals.
