MANILA, Philippines — This is not the best of Eya Laure yet.

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans made a play-in semifinal exit in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference after bowing out over the gutsy Akari Chargers in a grueling five-set match last Saturday.

Before the All-Filipino Conference started, the Flying Titans somehow looked intimidating with Sisi Rondina and Laure teaming up and joining their forces to possibly propel the team to its final appearance in the 2026 edition.

However, that is not the case.

The 27-year-old Alas Pilipinas ace sustained an abdominal injury during Choco Mucho’s clash against the 10-time league champions Creamline early in the preliminary round.

This made Laure miss two games and pace her game with the Flying Titans.

With Rondina being well-scouted by Akari, as she only finished with 13 points, Laure led the scoring for the team as she churned out 20 points, but it was not enough to overcome the fiery 30-point outing of Ivy Lacsina.

After this heartbreaking loss against Akari, Laure shared that her previous outings with Choco Mucho is not her peak form yet.

“I think there’s more of me. For one, I am still adjusting to my weight, which is also part of it. And I am still adjusting to coach Dante’s (Alinsunurin) system, my teammates, and overall, this is a whole adjustment period,” Laure said.

“It’s important to be really patient; nothing good comes out if I am going to be irritated and annoyed with the process. As long as there’s opportunities to play and grow—I will take all of it,” she added.

One can argue that Laure’s best form was during her rookie year with the University of Santo Tomas (UST), where she and Rondina ended the team’s eight-year finals drought in Season 81.

Laure acknowledged that as a highlight of her career, but she’s done looking back now.

“I think that whole 2019 is a huge thing for me. A huge part of Eya Laure today is what happened in 2019. But again, 2019 is already over and we need to move forward. It’s time to grow, learn more, and see what else I can offer,” she shared.
