False documents: Three nurses, two MA officers charged

Kota Kinabalu: The Corruption Special Court here fixed Dec 3 this year for mention of the cases of three nurses and two medical assistant officers charged with using fake documents to claim their overtime.

Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga set the date for Nurses Marvilta Michael Poudi, 35; Naliah Saliwat, 37; Azrina Abd Aziz, 36; and medical assistant officers Aemy Melanie Elon, 33, and Junior Justin, 34, when their cases were brought for mention.

Marvilta has eight charges, Naliah nine, Azrina three, Aemy 14 charges and Junior nine.

On the first to eighth counts, Marvilta is accused of using fake documents in submitting a claim for RM24,482.88 for overtime between Dec 1, 2020 and July 1, 2021.

Read more Meanwhile, Naliah on the first to ninth counts, is accused of using fake documents in a claim for RM29,100.82 for overtime between July 17, 2020 and Aug 12, 2021.

Azrina, on the first to third counts, allegedly used fake documents in a claim RM9,728.83 for overtime between June 11, 2021 and Aug 5, 2021.

Meanwhile, Aemy, on the first to 14 counts, is accused of using fake documents to claim RM41,922.94 for overtime between April 7, 2020 and Aug 5, 2021.

Junior, on the first to ninth counts, is accused of using fake documents to claim for RM36,155.51 for overtime between July 17, 2021 and Aug 12, 2021.

The charges stated that the five who were staff at the Inanam Health clinic, here allegedly submitted the fake documents Jadual Extended Hours, copy of Jadual Bertugas Perkhidmatan Lanjutan Klinik Inanam, a copy of list of names of personnel who were on-call duties and a copy of Kad Perakam waktu.

During the proceedings, the prosecution had served some documents to all the accused persons.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Izzati Safiee appeared for the prosecution, while counsel Sylvester Kuan defended Marvilta and Azrina. The rest were not represented.

Bail for the five accused had been extended pending the disposal of their cases.
