SHAH ALAM - It's been 37 days without any news of Muhammad Haziq Ismail, 36, who is still missing following the devastating floods in Nepal.
In a post on Threads, his sister, Nurizzati Ismail, described her younger brother as an intelligent and cheerful person who loved teasing family members and had many dreams he hoped to achieve.
“He had always talked about and manifested to everyone that he wanted to become a successful businessman.
“It was also quite a rare field. Haziq explored the underwater technology business. He barely slept every day as he worked hard on his business,” she said.
The media had previously reported that Muhammad Haziq was among nine Malaysians who could not be contacted while travelling towards the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung border in Nepal.
The group had departed Kathmandu in two four-wheel-drive vehicles before losing contact when they were about 18 kilometres from the Nepal-Tibet border.
Muhammad Haziq’s name was also listed among the 51 Malaysians reported missing after the disaster.
In the same post, Nurizzati also appealed to the public to offer prayers for Muhammad Haziq and her family as they continued seeking answers about her brother’s whereabouts.
“On this blessed Friday, I ask that you keep Haziq and our family in your prayers, so that we may find answers to all the prayers we have made.
“Thirty-seven days have passed without any news of our younger brother, Haziq. We will continue to remember this one-of-a-kind brother of ours,” she said.
