Heavy rain lashed the Tarn Taran area for around two hours on Saturday afternoon, bringing much-needed relief from the prevailing heatwave and proving beneficial for crops. Farmer Nachhattar Singh said the rainfall had greatly benefited fodder crops. He explained that the intense heat over the past several days had caused the fodder crop to dry out, and the rain had arrived at a crucial time. Another farmer, Tajinder Singh of Rasulpur village, said the rainfall would help farmers prepare their fields for the sowing of the next crop following the wheat harvest.

Residents across the area welcomed the rain, which brought a noticeable drop in temperatures and relief from the scorching heat. The rainfall is also expected to benefit the maize crop.

However, the downpour caused waterlogging on the Chabal bypass in Tarn Taran city. Water has accumulated on the road, creating difficulties for commuters and is likely to remain a problem for several days.
