Fashion CEO apologizes for restraining protester at NYFW show

A fashion executive has apologized after restraining a female animal rights protester who stormed a New York Fashion Week show.

Steven Kolb, Council of Fashion Designers of America’s CEO and president, was attending the COS show on Sunday (September 13) when members of Peta (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) stormed the event protesting against the wool industry.

In a video posted by Peta, Kolb could be seen grabbing a woman and restraining her with his legs while putting his hand over her mouth. In another video, he was seen shoving a male protester.

Kolb said in a statement on social media that it was not his place to intervene and he should have left it to event security.
