It is said that her smash clocked in at the speed of 438 kmph (kilometer per hour) which is way faster than a Formula One (F1) car (372.6 kmph).

The attempt was done at a gymnasium at Yonex Co. Ltd. Tokyo Factory in Saitama, Japan on 14 April where Guinness World Records judges were in attendance and gave their seal of verification.

On the same occasion, India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy also broke the record held by former national player, Tan Boon Heong with an amazing smash of 565 kmph!

The previous record by Boon Heong was 493 kmph.

As the record attempt was made in a Yonex factory, the sports brand mentioned in their website that their high-speed camera was able to capture the actual smash.

“The instant velocity of the shuttlecock after the impact was then calculated from the photographic recording. ”

Pearly is partners with M. Thinaah and they are both ranked 11th in the world.

The duo was recently crowned as the National Women’s Team at the 2022 National Sports Awards, after winning the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games gold medal and 2022 French Open title, reports BERNAMA.

This is certainly a great feat, we would like to congratulate Pearly for this!
