THE father of the 14-year-old boy currently in police custody for allegedly killing another student at a school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, yesterday said he was heartbroken over his son's actions.
The 40-year-old man, in an interview with China Press, said he did not think his son was capable of any violence.
The man, who declined to be named, said his son was a quiet and introverted person.
He said he realised that no apology would be enough to make up for what had happened.
"I know whatever I say now doesn't make any sense.
"No matter what I do, it won't bring their daughter back. I don't know how to face them," he said.
Police yesterday confirmed that a 16-year-old female student at a secondary school in Bandar Utama was stabbed to death by her male schoolmate.
Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail reportedly confirmed that the male student had been arrested in connection with the case.
Initial investigations found that the victim suffered several stab wounds to her body.
Looking back at the incident, the father of the male student involved said that the day had started as usual when he sent his son to school in the morning.
He said that his son had not shown any signs of unusual behaviour.
According to him, although his son's academic performance was quite poor and he may not have been paying much attention in class, he was generally not someone who likes to cause trouble.
The man said that his son had never informed him about the victim, a 16-year-old female student, before.
He said the incident had hit him hard and he was shattered over the incident.
"My son is a quiet and introverted person. Even if something happened at school - whether he was being bullied or not - he wouldn't tell me.
"I know saying anything now is useless. Nothing can bring their daughter back," he added. - October 15, 2025
