At least two people have been killed by Russian shelling in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk.

Six other people were injured, according to Vadym Filashkin, the military governor of the Donetsk region, who posted the news on Telegram on Friday.

The industrial town came under fire at least twice. The front line between Russian and Ukrainian troops lies just over ten kilometres east of Kramatorsk.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for more than four years.
