LAHAD DATU: A 38-year-old man was arrested for injuring his 13-year-old son during a domestic violence incident in Kampung Sharip on Saturday.

Acting District Police Chief Supt Jimmy Panyau said the assault occurred while the child was helping his father repair a vehicle. The suspect allegedly used his hands and a timing belt to beat the boy.

The incident was reported by the suspect’s ex-wife after receiving photos of the injuries via WhatsApp. The victim sustained bruises on his back, ribs, and leg. The suspect was arrested at 12.10pm the same day.
