The father of Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli has spoken of his son's situation this past week.
Fagioli has met with investigators over allegations of placing illegal bets on matchs.
Marco Fagioli told La Repubblica: "I won't say anything about what my son would have done. It's not the time. A lot of what I read about him isn't true, but if I tried to explain it now no one would listen to me. I haven't seen him since Sunday. In hindsight, I can say that maybe something was bothering him, but I didn't imagine anything like that.
"Like my wife, I work all day. Obviously we are close to our son, as we always have been. But we cannot work miracles. Clubs for many reasons cannot support the players in all aspects of their lives, nor can we parents should do it once our children become adults and professionals.
"It would be useful for agents to warn young people about the risks they face. They should follow them and advise them, it would be valuable. They should help them understand what commitments they hire the moment they sign a contract. This way they would justify what they earn."
