Father, son missing after boat capsizes in Kajang

SHAH ALAM - A man and his son were feared drowned after their boat capsized at a lake in Taman Cahaya Sungai Chua in Kajang, today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said they received a distress call at 2.15pm.

He said six personnel from the Bangi fire station were rushed to the scene.

Norazam said one of the man’s son aged 18 who was also on the boat has been found safe.

However, he said the father who was in his 50s and his other son who was 15 years old were still missing.

"The estimated depth of the lake is 30 meters.

“The search and rescue operation is being carried out using the grappling iron technique," he said in a statement today.
