Kota Kinabalu: The father and stepsister of Zara Qairina Mahathir are expected to testify when the inquest into the 13-year-old schoolgirl's death resumes on Sept 7.
Mahathir Hashim Marikin and his daughter are slated to be the next witnesses called before Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan during the upcoming five-day hearing.
A total of 79 witnesses have testified so far across 86 days of proceedings since the inquest began on Sept 3 last year.
The court is also expected to recall Forensic Psychiatry Consultant Dr Chua Sze Hung and Nurul Atiqah Mohd Noh from the Chemistry Department’s Document Examination Division.
Zara was found unconscious on the hostel ground floor of her school on July 16, 2025, and died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital the following day.
