A 28-year-old man was attacked and dragged away by a crocodile while fishing in a Sabah river, with his father witnessing the horrifying incident.

KINABATANGAN: A father watched in horror as his son was attacked and dragged away by a crocodile in a river in Kampung Segaliud.

Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station chief Hairi Otuh said 28-year-old Mohd Rayyan Abdullah was attacked while casting a net for prawns.

The victim’s father was present and witnessed the entire attack, which was reported to authorities at 8.22 pm.

A rescue team arrived at the location at 9.10 pm to gather information and immediately launched a search and rescue operation.

As of this morning, the victim had not been found, and search efforts are ongoing.
