THE Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has opened the second cycle of its CreatePHFilms program, offering grants of up to P5 million to support Filipino film projects from development to postproduction.
Create PH Films provides non-recoupable grants, allowing filmmakers to retain full ownership of their projects. The program covers project development, preproduction, production and postproduction.For the latest funding cycle, the FDCP expanded eligibility to include animation and documentary projects under the Project Development and Short Film grants.The agency also increased the Project Development Grant to as much as P500,000 and expanded its coverage to include preproduction expenses.Production grants have also been restructured to provide continuous support from principal photography through postproduction.Under the program, the Project Development Grant provides up to P500,000 for mid- to full-length films in the development and preproduction stages.The Short Film Grant also offers up to P500,000 for short films undergoing production and postproduction.For Filipino films with production budgets below P15 million, the Small Budget Production Grant provides up to P1 million to cover expenses from principal photography through postproduction.Projects with budgets of at least P15 million may apply for the Large Budget Production Grant, which provides P3 to P5 million for principal photography and postproduction expenses.The expanded program aims to provide Filipino filmmakers with greater financial support and creative freedom to bring locally developed stories to the screen.Filmmakers and production teams may submit applications through the FDCP’s official portal until Aug. 24.
