Kota Kinabalu: All federal departments and agencies in Sabah will continue to assist the Sabah Government in implementing and realising the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development agenda.

Sabah Federal Secretary Datuk Rosli Isa said this commitment is carried out through the Sabah Federal-State Liaison Meeting, held quarterly to coordinate efforts in resolving any outstanding issues.

“As a show of support, the Sabah Federal Secretary Office, representing all federal departments and agencies in the State, will continue to uphold and assist the Sabah Government in implementing and realising its SMJ mission under the leadership of the Chief Minister and the State Government as a whole.

“The platform we use is the Sabah Federal-State Liaison Meeting, held once every three months, and our latest meeting will be convened this Monday (Aug 25). This is the platform where we seek solutions to unresolved matters.

“I can see that the Federal Government continues to support Sabah in safeguarding its mission, while at the same time advancing the ‘Malaysia Madani’ agenda promoted by the Prime Minister – a mission with a noble vision of fairness and humanity for all, especially in Sabah, which is home to diverse ethnic communities,” he said.

“Therefore, with regard to the issues and needs that arise, we will always ensure that the people of Sabah are not left behind. Should there be shortcomings, we will continuously appeal and press for opportunities to be extended to the people of Sabah in particular,” he told the media after paying a courtesy call on Sabah Head of State Tun Musa Aman, Friday.

Rosli said overall, there are about 128,000 federal civil servants in Sabah, serving across 167 departments, agencies and statutory bodies.

Rosli, a native of Perak, began serving in Sabah as the Federal Secretary on Sept 9 last year and will retire on Aug 26.
