Ferro Carril Oeste president Daniel Pandolfi has explained the sale of Lucas Roman to Barcelona.
The youngster was sold by the Argentine Second Division Ferro to Barca last week.
Pandolfi said, "[Barcelona] had been following him for a while. He was in the sub 16 and sub 18 of the Argentine National Team, always advanced compared to his age. He debuted in our team at the age of 16 and was always a starter.
"Bara will pay 2 million euros if the footballer plays 20 games, 3 million if he reaches 30 and 4 million if he reaches 40. No there are variables in case he debuts in the first team.
"Racing had made a proposal, but financially the offer from the Spanish club was convenient for us. Let's hope they sell him again and recover what we could have lost now.
"What they told me in Barcelona is that they saw things in Romn from the 16-year-old (Lionel) Messi."
