  • Fifa has approved broadcasters airing advertisements during mandatory three-minute water breaks at this summer's World Cup.
  • These hydration breaks will occur midway through each half of all 104 matches, a measure introduced in December to prioritise player welfare due to anticipated high temperatures in North America.
  • Broadcasters can choose between a split-screen format, limited to Fifa's official sponsors, or a full cut-away for any commercial content, with strict timing guidelines for ad placement.
  • Unlike previous tournaments where breaks were heat-triggered, these will be uniformly implemented across all games for consistency.
  • The tournament kicks off on 11 June in Mexico City and concludes with the final on 19 July in New York/New Jersey, with England facing Croatia, Ghana, and Panama in Group L.
