
NFL quarterback Jameis Winston unique gesture stole the show at the FIFA World Cup 2026 after he arrived at Argentina’s opening match against Algeria with a goat dressed in a Lionel Messi jersey.
Winston, who is serving as a special reporter for FOX Sports during the tournament, was seen walking around the stadium with the goat before kickoff. The stunt quickly went viral on social media, with many fans interpreting it as a playful nod to Messi’s ‘GOAT’ status — an acronym for “Greatest of All Time."
And to the timing couldn’t have been better as Messi went on to score a hattrick with Argentina cruising to a 3-0 victory over Algeria in their World Cup opener.
Meanwhile, Winston has been making headlines throughout the tournament. Earlier, he was seen celebrating with Dutch supporters and later joined Japanese fans in cleaning up rubbish after a World Cup match.
