Goalkeeper Josué Duverger of German fifth-tier side FC Cosmos Koblenz has been named in Haiti's World Cup squad, the national football association announced on Saturday.
Duverger's inclusion was "a great honour for our club and a proud moment for the entire community," Cosmos Koblenz wrote on their website.
"For us, he is not just a goalkeeper. He is a role model in attitude, character and modesty. Someone who shows what is possible when you believe in yourself. We are incredibly proud of his story and of what now lies ahead of him."
Haiti, in their second men's World Cup, play record world champions Brazil, 2022 semi-finalists Morocco and Scotland in North America next month.
