Fire at Menara 3 Petronas contained, no injuries reported

THE fire that broke out at a luxury restaurant on the 57th floor of Menara 3 Petronas early on Saturday morning has been successfully contained, with no casualties or injuries reported, authorities confirmed.

Chief of Sentul Fire and Rescue Station, Deputy Fire Superintendent II Mohd Hafizan Hassan, said the team received the alert at 6.41 a.m. and responded immediately, deploying 35 officers and personnel from BBP Tun Razak and Hang Tuah.

“We carried out an offensive operation using the fire lift to reach the location and employed the wet riser system to extinguish the fire,” he said.

Mohd Hafizan confirmed that the fire was under control by 7.04 a.m. and fully extinguished by 8.45 a.m.

“No lives were lost, and no injuries were reported in this incident,” he added.

The fire affected approximately 30 per cent of the restaurant.

“The main challenge was the fire’s location at a high level, but the building’s safety systems facilitated the operation,” he explained.

The restaurant will remain closed until the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department’s (JBPM) Forensic Unit completes its investigation.

“The cause of the incident and estimated losses are still under investigation,” he said. - November 1, 2025
