
A RAGING fire razed 11 homes and destroyed three vehicles in Kampung Delima, Lorong 7, Kota Kinabalu, on Monday evening.
The fire, which broke out around 5pm, engulfed eight non-permanent homes and three semi-permanent structures. Among the vehicles lost were a Nissan Navara pickup, a Proton Waja, and a motorcycle.
Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Station chief, Senior Fire Superintendent I Ordine Gilu, said 18 firefighters, assisted by 10 personnel from the Lintas Fire Station, were deployed to the scene immediately after receiving a distress call at 5.11pm.
“The fire was brought under control by 5.50pm,” he said. “No injuries were reported, and the operation was fully concluded at 7.40pm.”
He added that the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The firefighting operation was supported by seven police officers, six members of the Civil Defence Force (APM), four RELA volunteers, and two personnel from Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB).
