Fire destroys house, vehicle in Kudat

KUDAT: A non-permanent house and a vehicle were destroyed in a fire at Kampung Merabau here on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), nine firefighters from the Kudat Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene following an emergency call received at 1.57pm.

The blaze consumed the 15-by-6-foot non-permanent house and a Perodua Kenari, while a Nissan Almera sustained minor heat damage of less than five per cent.

Firefighters controlled the fire at 4.10pm using a hose reel drawing water from an open source, with no casualties reported before operations concluded at 4.28pm.
