
SIPITANG: A fire destroyed several rental properties and a surau in Kampung Pantai, Jalan Sogip, here on Monday morning, but no casualties were reported.
The blaze, which broke out around 8.19am, involved four blocks, including a house with a shop, a block of 30 rental rooms, a two-unit rental home and a surau.
Firefighters arrived at the scene within minutes and brought the fire under control by 8.32am before fully extinguishing it at 10.45am.

Authorities confirmed that while the buildings were badly damaged, swift action ensured the safety of residents, and the area was later declared secure.
