Fire reaches first alarm in Quezon City house; faulty air conditioner eyed

MANILA, Philippines — A residential fire in Barangay Quirino 3-A, Project 3, Anonas, Quezon City reached first alarm at 8:10 p.m. on Thursday, according to TXT Fire Philippines, after flames engulfed the second floor of a house.

The fire reportedly broke out a few minutes before 8 p.m. in one of the rooms on the second floor. The homeowner alerted authorities at 8:01 p.m., prompting the first fire truck to arrive at 8:04 p.m. A total of eight fire trucks responded to contain the blaze.

Fire investigator FO2 Flores said a malfunctioning air conditioner is the suspected source of the fire, which is believed to have started as an electrical fire, although the exact cause remains under investigation.

The blaze completely destroyed the second floor of the house, while only a portion of the ground floor sustained damage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, according to Capt. Bimbo Cruz.
