Thick smoke rises over the Aude department in southern France as firefighters battle a major wildfire threatening nearby homes.
Footage shows aircraft dropping red fire retardant over the blaze while helicopters fly through the smoke above the fire zone.
The fire has burned around 900 hectares, prompting a major emergency response. Around 690 firefighters have been deployed, supported by Dash aircraft, Canadair planes and Dragon helicopters.
Elsewhere, footage from the Pyrénées-Orientales shows a campsite damaged by a separate wildfire, with burned vegetation and destroyed mobile homes. Evacuees arrive at a shelter in Canet-en-Roussillon after leaving the campsite with only a few belongings.
