FIRST lady Liza Araneta-Marcos on Thursday continued her weeklong rice aid distribution under the “Mula sa Puso Para sa Pamilya” initiative, with 500 families as recipients in Sta. Cruz, Manila.
The program is part of the national government’s ongoing support for local communities to provide essential relief to vulnerable sectors who are affected by the rising cost of everyday goods.
The first lady told the residents that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. asked her to personally thank them for their continued support of the administration.
”We cannot eradicate poverty 100 percent, but we can at least do a bit to lessen the burden in the days to come,” she said.
She reaffirmed the administration’s unceasing efforts to ease the hardships faced by low-income families.
The first lady was accompanied during the activity by Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Vice Mayor Angela Lei Atienza.
The rice distributed to beneficiaries was procured by the City Government of Manila from local farmers through the Local Government Support Fund.
