South Korean eyewear powerhouse Gentle Monster has officially arrived at Suria KLCC, marking the brand’s second and largest flagship in Malaysia and its most significant move yet in the Southeast Asian market.
Having made its local debut at The Exchange TRX, the brand now plants its flag at one of Kuala Lumpur’s most iconic retail destinations, doubling down on its ambition to reshape what a luxury eyewear experience can look and feel like.
The new flagship is immediately striking, and not just for its eyewear. Gentle Monster has long operated on the philosophy that its stores should function as cultural spaces as much as retail ones, and the Suria KLCC outpost makes good on that promise. Fashion, technology, and contemporary art converge across the floor plan in a way that feels considered rather than contrived, inviting visitors to slow down and take it all in before they even reach the display cases.
Inside Gentle Monster’s second outlet in Malaysia at Suria KLCC
The showstopper upon entry is the ‘Giant Head’ Kinetic Object, a sculptural installation conceived by the Gentle Monster Robotics Lab. You will see three oversized heads move in continuous motion, each one registering something that reads uncannily like thought. The centrepiece turns its head as if lost in contemplation, while the two flanking figures shift and sway around it. Blinking eyelids and moving pupils bring an almost eerie lifelikeness to the piece, which the brand frames as an exploration of cognition, emotion, and human connection. The installation is guaranteed to stop you mid-stride, and that is precisely the point.

Beyond the art pieces, the store carries Gentle Monster’s full range of signature collections alongside seasonal drops and exclusive releases. Shoppers with an eye on the brand’s upcoming ‘Veggie Collection’ will be pleased to know it lands at both the Suria KLCC and The Exchange TRX locations from 5 June onwards.
According to the press release, the opening of this second Malaysian flagship speaks to a broader momentum the brand has been building across the region. Each new Gentle Monster space is conceived not merely as a place to sell eyewear but as a statement of intent, a demonstration that retail can still be surprising, immersive, and genuinely worth turning up for. In that regard, the Suria KLCC store more than delivers.
