Kota Kinabalu: The first phase of the State Government’s Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) affordable housing project is well on track of the target set by the Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB) to complete 204 houses before the end of this year.
Utilising Industrial Building System (IBS) technology, quality affordable homes can be built faster, more economical, withstand earthquakes, corrosion, termites, fire and water damage, and can be constructed anywhere such as along the beach, islands or even mountainous terrain.
“We have high hopes of using IBS technology to provide us the supply of buildings needed at the district level, which in turn will ensure the success of the SMJ housing project for the people,” said Tambunan District Officer Sobitun Makajil.
