A forest fire broke out across about 2.02 hectares near a shop in Jalan Beringin, Port Klang, with 14 firefighters working to extinguish the blaze.
SHAH ALAM: A forest fire broke out in an area of about 2.02 hectares (five acres) near a shop in Jalan Beringin, Kawasan 13, Port Klang, this afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call about the fire at 1.24 pm.
He said a team from the Port Klang Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene five minutes later and found that the fire had spread over an area of about five acres.
“Efforts to extinguish the fire are currently underway,” he said in a statement today.
The operation involved 14 personnel from the Port Klang and Sri Andalas fire stations, supported by a Fire Rescue Tender, a Light Fire Rescue Tender and two water tanks.
