
RANAU: Firefighters brought a 50-acre forest fire under control at Puncak Bukit Skim 2 in Lohan 1 early Friday morning following an overnight operation.
The Ranau Fire and Rescue Department deployed a team of seven personnel after receiving an emergency call at 10.37pm on Thursday.
The first response team arrived at the location, situated approximately 11 kilometres from the station, at 10.51pm to contain the spread of the flames.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control at about 6am before carrying out overhaul and damping-down work to extinguish remaining hotspots and prevent reignition.
No casualties or injuries were reported during the incident.
