KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 — Five Chinese nationals suspected to have been involved in several housebreaking incidents in the capital were arrested in two separate raids in Sri Petaling and Pudu here on Sunday.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said investigations revealed that the suspects may have been involved in a housebreaking incident in Taman Desa Petaling on August 4, which caused the victim to suffer losses of about RM6,000 involving cash, jewelry, and a luxury-branded sling bag.

“During the raid at approximately 9.30pm, the police also seized a vehicle along with various tools used for housebreaking,” he said in a statement today.

Fadil said the police also recovered items belonging to the victim alongside various other luxury items including watches, wallets, and cash in various foreign currencies totalling more than RM10,000.

According to him, the suspects, aged between 38 and 58, are also believed to be involved in two other housebreaking cases around the Cheras area.

He said all suspects were remanded for four days starting Monday until tomorrow to assist with investigations under Section 457 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
